Heidi Bowers-Dutra, OTR/L, CHT—co-director/co-owner

Heidi Bowers-Dutra earned her degree in occupational therapy from Boston University in 1983 and began her career working at a regional spinal cord injury center at University Hospital in Boston. In 1985, she became the Clinical Specialist for Hand Therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was involved in multiple research projects, including early motion programs for flexor tendon repairs and MCP arthroplasties. In 1985 she established the Hand Therapy Program at University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She directed that program until 1990 when she became the Clinical Hand Therapy Specialist at Northridge Hospital in Northridge, California. Heidi joined Hand Rehabilitation Specialists in 1992 and she is now the co-director/co-owner with Laurie Roundtree. One of the first Certified Hand Therapists in the country, Heidi is a charter member of the American Society of Hand Therapists. She is a contributing author to the American Society of Hand Therapists Treatment Guidelines and has presented poster sessions at the annual ASHT meetings. Heidi has also lectured nationally on various upper extremity topics.


Laurie Roundtree, OTR/L, CHT—co-director/co-owner

Laurie Roundtree graduated from Tufts University in Boston in 1980 and has specialized in hand therapy her entire career. Laurie was the Chief Therapist at the Arcadia (California) Hand Rehab Center for six years, and director of the Santa Anita Hand Center in Arcadia, California, for two years. In addition to treatment, Laurie's prior work experience includes 5 years of consulting to businesses and individuals interested in injury prevention and workplace ergonomics. In 1988, Laurie joined Hand Rehabilitation Specialists where she was Director of the former Oxnard branch for 12 years. She is now co-director/co-owner of Hand Rehabilitation Specialists with Heidi Bowers-Dutra. One of the first Certified Hand Therapists in the country, Laurie is a charter member of the American Society of Hand Therapists and a contributing author of The American Society of Hand Therapists Treatment Guidelines. Laurie has lectured on upper extremity topics at both national and local conferences and authored a poster presentation on thumb arthritis at the 2003 ASHT Annual Conference. She has consulted as a technical adviser to the film industry, including for Jim Carrey's recent role as a head injury victim in “The Number 23.” She continues to be interested in creative problem solving techniques and innovative splinting options.


Eileen Seiberlich, OTR/L, CHT—Certified Hand Therapist

Eileen Seiberlich graduated from Loma Linda University in 1985. She became a Certified Hand Therapist in 1991. Eileen worked in Los Angeles's San Gabriel Valley at Interstate Rehabilitation, Inc. and Pacific West Hand Center before joining Hand Rehabilitation Specialists in 2000. She is known for her intuitive expertise in the evaluation and treatment of patients with chronic pain and cumulative trauma disorders. Eileen spent three years serving on the board of the Southern California Hand Special Interest Group, as both vice-president and president. She is now responsible for managing the Simi Valley office.


Rekha Srinivasan, MS, OTR/L, CHT—Certified Hand Therapist

Rekha Srinivasan graduated from Tufts University in 2000 and worked as an occupational therapist at Valley Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, California; her focus was on patients with neurological disorders including stroke and traumatic brain injuries. In addition, she worked for the Hand Center of Southern California, where she specialized in cumulative trauma disorders. Rekha joined the staff of Hand Rehabilitation Specialists in August 2001. In 2004, Rekha served as treasurer for the Southern California Hand Special Interest Group. Rekha's special interests are in wrist rehabilitation, hand trauma, arthritis and neurological disorders.


Cathy Evaristo, OTR/L, CHT—Certified Hand Therapist

Cathy Evaristo received her occupational therapy degree in 1991 from the National University of the Philippines, an American accredited program. Cathy is the former director of the occupational therapy program at The Cardinal Santos Memorial Hospital. Her past experience includes performing functional capacity evaluations and work hardening programs. Her present interests are in wrist rehabilitation, orthopedic injuries and wound care. Cathy became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2000 and has been with Hand Rehabilitation Specialists since 2003.


Leah Naseem, MS, PT—Physical Therapist

Leah Naseem graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise science from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State University) in 1996 and a master's degree in physical therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in1998. Her experiences include outpatient sports orthopedics, acute pediatrics and burns. Following school, Leah concentrated her career on outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. She has had continuing education in the areas of cervical spine, headaches, pelvic floor dysfunction and prenatal/post-partum physical therapy. She is certified to instruct prenatal/post-partum exercise classes. She has consulted as a technical adviser to the film industry, including for Jim Carrey's recent role as a head injury victim in “The Number 23.” Her strengths include: posture analysis, spine stabilization, aquatics and patient education. Leah's special interests are in women's health and solving chronic musculoskeletal dysfunction through ergonomic assessment and movement analysis.
